White discolorations (often on the front, so-called labial surface of the front teeth, but also on other teeth) are areas of decalcification of the tooth enamel. Such areas are considered to be the first, the earliest stage of caries. The enamel, which has been deprived of calcium in this area, becomes soft and susceptible to attack by bacteria and the acids they produce, which in turn further weaken the enamel. Therefore, carious plaque in its initial stage is not a "black hole" in the tooth, but a WHITE spot (smaller or larger). White discolorations (areas of demineralization of the enamel) also often occur after the removal of braces. These areas need to be mineralized again as quickly as possible, as they are more susceptible to caries. This is exactly where ICON can help.
Initial caries (as it is called) is treated non-invasively. As the mechanical structure of the enamel is still intact (only its chemical structure is weakened), there is no reason to destroy it with a drill! The most conservative treatment in this case is to remineralize and impregnate the enamel. The aim is to restore the chemical structure of the enamel and strengthen it. The preparation used for this type of treatment is ICON (manufacturer - DMG).
After cleaning and drying the tooth surface, the ICON preparation is applied, which penetrates the damaged enamel and strengthens it. The procedure is non-invasive - no drill is required, and the dentist spares the tooth's own tissue. It is performed in a single session.

In cases where demineralization appears in hard-to-reach interdental spaces, we use the ICON preparation intended for interproximal spaces:
